Just
how popular are outdoor living spaces in the United States? According
to Realtor.com’s Home Improvement survey, about 67 percent of U.S.
consumers are aiming for remodeling come springtime, which will
include patio additions and enhancements.
If
you already have an existing patio, all you have to do to breathe new
life into it is to get new furniture. Your choice of furniture
depends on what your outdoor living space is most used for.
For
instance, if your patio is mostly a nook for you and your family to
read bestsellers, you’ll enjoy furniture made from bamboo or
rattan. These materials are malleable so the pieces are made with
slight curves, which are perfect for lounging and relaxing. For
optimum comfort, cushions with ultra-soft pillow inserts are
recommended for your new furniture. A good option is durable
inserts
made from 100 percent spun polyester.
Your
selection for the cushions’ design also plays a big role in
completing the look of your reading corner. Cushions with dainty
paisley designs will feel just right, as well as cushions with
colorful geometric prints.
A
reminder when choosing fabric for your cushions: check to see if they
are made from a fabric that can withstand the elements. A good choice
is Bella Dura. This fabric is anti-microbial and does a good job of
keeping mildew and stains away. What’s more, it’s soft to the
skin so you wouldn’t mind staying outdoors all day to finish an
entire book.
