Decorative pillows are an easy way to
project your personal style and make a room into a home. They come in an
endless variety of colors, prints, fabrics and sizes, so no matter which items
you select, you will create an original look.
Have you ever wondered how furniture
showrooms and model homes look so good?
You can recreate the same, designer look with decorative pillows. The
key is to focus on one room at a time. Make sure you de-clutter and donate or
repurpose any items you no longer love. Undecided? Store it in a box and set it
aside while you decide.
Then decide if you love the paint
color and your current furniture. If you cannot afford to replace your
furniture, sometimes all you need to do is reposition your furniture and remove
an item or two to create a whole new look.
Now it’s time to add decorative
pillows. Select pillows that share a common color, whether blue, green, purple,
red or any other color you choose. Then look for different shapes and patterns
that feature the same color, keeping in mind the color does not have to be an
exact match. For example, light blue and navy will coordinate. For an informal
look, mix and match pillows in sets of three. For a formal look, buy two
identical pillows for a symmetrical look.
Then sit back and enjoy. Your home will look new again with a clean, uncluttered look that will allow your pillows to become the focal point of your home that reflects your personal style.
